7. the cheating path

A Chapter by Jordan Williams

bodies flail, begin the shoddy tale of a hound dog, a cuckold, and a harlot

shifting guilt for what can't be rebuilt on a thick sinking floor of scarlet

evidence shows through unprecedented glows, lifted by smiles, your face beams

fiddle my ring, belittled to no meaning, a memento of disgraced dreams

repulsive stares made by impulsive flairs of starving needs met by grim sins

compulsive urge brings a convulsive surge to christen the couple in crimson

more of a man, you awarded him your hand, he kissed away the mark of our gold

a rusty band outshone by lusty stands, one-nighters that scarless hearts hold

troubles found, hear the muffled sound, soon to burst where it now brims him

he gurgled lies, now every word will dry, caked over in costly crimson

compared i pale to that alpha male, with whom you secretly frolic

caught by his pomp, now you dance and romp, a betrayal most diabolic

fountains abound as the hound dog drowns in a passion he no longer swims in

can't keep afloat, seeped in through his coat, his core cradled by vengeful crimson

choke the claims that just stoke the flames of a fury that needs no details

dismayed, ashamed, and played by the game, a new partner to fill in where we failed

rashly judged and unabashedly grudged, she had to get her kicks and whims in

the architect should have kept her heart in check, forever smudged when licked by crimson

veins are stopped, this train cannot be stopped, once it heads down relentless tracks

stale motives are roughly railroaded when chance unveils the witnessed facts

bodies as shells, left emptied as they fell, the hound dog, the cuckold, and the harlot

casualties freed from night's own adulteries, nestled by a cold embrace of scarlet
