7. not another one or stronger things

A Chapter by Jordan Williams

could i transcribe what i can't describe in the right context?

a simpler version if in person, but written too complex

the long wind that sails descriptions in my journal

is knocked out by you, leaving it internal

so powerless to this cowardice that hushes my tongue

bravery is saved for me after the crush is done

though it's never fully lifted, just redirected

into lyrics where intentions can be perfected

stronger things have happened than the rhymes i’ve penned

still they’re strong enough to resurface in lines again

so devoted when i wrote it, though it hasn't lessened

it didn't fade, i was just afraid it wasn't impressive

i want to shock and awe and swoon you with my speech

and stock your heart full of praises within my reach

stronger things have happened than the look you gave me

still it moved and stayed me, it revived and slayed me

your perceptions from deceptions that were misconstrued

meanings subtle, all too muddled, i had given you

embarrassed eyes turned away into stiff shoulders

a boy whose coyness makes him come across much colder

stronger things have happened than the smile you showed

still it paved a hope to travel on in miles of road

do you think of me in blinks that seem to hardly last?

or do impressions leave you questions you are starved to ask?

is my infatuation shared to leave us both anticipated

for a moment when my first move won’t be hesitated?

stronger things have happened than when i heard you speak

still your soft voice weighs heavily, making me weak

stronger things have happened, so i should set it free

stronger things have happened, but not yet to me
