Season's Change

Season's Change

A Poem by Independent
"

After the break up

"
We sit here
Across from each other
This situation so familiar
But so different now
You've moved on so fast
And my life's a blast
Though we still
Catch each others eye
I laugh with friends
As you sigh
Oh, how the tables have turned
Look at us now
Like perfect strangers
When I used to know every scar
I loved you
Loved, as in passed tense
Used to
You deceived me
You neglected me
Acted so much like you didn't care
That in turn u believed the story
But look at you now
I'm not bothered anymore
And you can't stop twitching
You don't want to see me
But here I am
I do what I want
And you can't stop me
You walked away from a good thing
And you know it
You messed up a good thing
And you know it
I love myself
I deserve more than what you gave me
All the messages you sent calling me dear
Were received to blind eyes
Because they have no meaning here
Oh, how the tables have turned
I once gave you my heart completely
But you tossed it aside
Your trash, my treasure
Maybe that's what you wanted so bad
You didn't want to think you were wrong
So then don't
Like you did before
Walk away
