Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Independent

There was a day
I would've done anything for you
I had planned so many things
Only to find my time was wasted.

In this tragic display,
I couldn't face it.
How the lies and manipulation,
Cut so deep.
The gashes, now mortal wounds.
I weep.

My reality was crashing down around me.
I was blind,
Now I can see.
I don't regret losing you.
In the end I lost nothing.
Because what I thought I had,
Turned out to be nothing.
You never existed.

All I thought you were,
was just a tale.
Like Disney.
But this fairytale
Knows no such thing as a happy ending.
So I cease sitting here pretending,
That you'll realize the mistake you made.
But you never cared enough anyways.

So no.
No longer do I cry.
No longer do I wish the turn the hands of time.
No thought of you brings a smile to my face.
Each memory of you, I set out to replace.
Goodbye dear friend.
Have a nice life.
This is the end.
This is my life.
