Brick by BrickA Poem by Dylan C.Another poem in the Villanelle style
I lay it all down, brick by brick
As I struggle to build this wall I can't do it alone, I need your love to make them stick It's something can't do too quick It takes time to build that which can bear it all I lay it all down, brick by brick Don't worry, this is no trick You'll be safe with me, please don't stall I can't do it alone, I need your love to make them stick Without us both it will surely crumble with one good kick And to someone new my bricks I'll have to haul I lay it all down, brick by brick Trust me, there's no need to panic Don't be afraid, I'll catch you if you fall I can't do it alone, I need your love to make them stick The higher it grows, the more I feel optimistic But will our wall last? It's too soon to call I lay it all down, brick by brick I can't do it alone, I need your love to make them stick © 2010 Dylan C. |
