A Love Story

Taken from my personal journals...

He wants me

I can tell

He is savoring my smell

The scent of my body haunts him

He yearns for me

Tells me everything I want to hear

I can’t help but pull him near

Wrap my arms around him

As he strokes my hair

Whatever is going on around me disappears

He has volunteered to take away my pain

That slowly drives me insane

Calm me with his kisses

 Pleasures me with every touch

Filling me with passion till I can’t get enough…

 

Should I let him in my heart?

Or just take what I need and let him go?

Never experienced this type of scenario

But he and I both know

The obstacles we would have to face

In order to be together, would be difficult

He may be willing, but I don’t think I can

Our time has passed

We never really had a chance

Not just a teenage love

What we shared was real

A connection,

And to this day

Neither time nor distance has broken our seal

After all these years,

His love still remains constant

Sometimes I wished I would have embraced it.

But instead I took a different direction

Sought out another’s affection

And in the end I was left alone

With a heart bitter and cold

Now it seems, my old flame

Has never really faded

He patiently waited.

Never giving up on the possibility

Remembering every little detail

He knows me all too well

And I seem to be under his spell.

I don’t understand,

But I can’t help but want to feel his hands against my face

He holds a special place in my heart.

I want to run to him, but I must be smart

What we want is not always what we need

But I wish I could live the fantasy.

He truly loves me

Wish I wasn’t so afraid to say

I love you too…

Other than the lst few sentences - which i thought to some extent repetitive, please never mind - i really enjoyed reading this beautiful poem. It has a rational side that assertively tells the love in deeper-most tunes. A great salute to that portrayal.
