ForgottenA Poem by Clara
I'm just another face in the crowd, just one among thousands.
You may not notice me anymore, or care that I'm even there. We did share some smiles and some laughs, But I knew all along it wouldn't last. And I'm already just another kid, Just another kid among a thousand more, One you'll soon forget. Already you're forgetting, forgetting that I'm there, Only speaking to me in brief conversations, Not even using my name. Now whenever we come across each other, There's not even a brief hello, Not even acknowledgment that I'm passing by. There's no doubt about it, You've already forgotten me. But I haven't forgotten you. Everyday you cross my mind, Finding a way to sneak into unwanted cracks. I keep trying to forget, But the thoughts always come back. No matter how hard I try, I can't ban them from my mind. Knowing that you've forgotten me, Just makes it that much harder. Now that you've forgotten me, I just want to forget you too. © 2014 ClaraAuthor's Note
