Drowning with this world

Drowning with this world

A Poem by Clare Ashbury

Drifting against the water

Darkness surrounds me

The fins of the predator

I am the victim prey

Stabbed again and again with razors

Salt within my eyes

Waves against my body

Splashing away my tears

Trying  so hard to survive against the current

To find away to land

But within the water I wait and dream

My body hurts from swimming to long

My eyes become just blurred

Drinking to much sea water

My mind becomes disoriented

Tired oh so tired

All i want is to sleep

Close my eyes slowly

Yet as i lay upon the waves upon my back

I slowly let my body grow heavy

And drowned within the dark water

The  dark abyss becomes my world

Never shall i ever get to land

Failure.

All within my hands.

.......is it the end?

I loved the metophor of drowning, the fight, determination, until exhusted. Well written and the feel of being in the dark cold ocean was strongly felt.

Nice imagery of drowning.

Keep writing, because I don't think this is the end! ^.~
