Forget me

Forget me

A Poem by Clare Ashbury
"

poem i can't believe i am writing.

"

I love how you can forget me

I’m use to it, don’t fret

I just never in my wildest dreams

Thought all this would become a regret

Time passes by without a word

I hardly remember your voice

You told me in the beginning you’d never be the one to hurt

Hurt me

Like this

So here I am, my body scorched with heat

Heat from anger and embarrassment

You’ll probably never read this, or understand its for you

But it’s true

You are changing…without me

But don’t worry, I’ll handle it, hurting is what I was born for

Don’t worry, I will live on, even though I need your words

I am so easy to forget, its crazy you waited so long

But in the end I told you, I told you, I told you

You’d leave me like all the others.

End.

End of such a beautiful thing.
