wound

wound

A Poem by Clare Ashbury
"

sitting in front of the televisions, i wrote three poems in 15 minutes.......this was the first.

"

Wounds of regret

Sleepy nights of watchful eyes

Privacy of panic

Thoughts of time and when it’s up

Sounds of silence

Fear overpowered

Black and white dreams

Bracelets that hide scars as well as long sleeves

Beautiful within images

Erotic sensation, pain, all to make me feel alive..Even for a moment

Direct intensity through life

Lay a pronouncement against me

Situations within my unstable environment

Sessions of insanity

Pawn me off, break my heart

Unanswered questions

Want me first, smile of easy love

Then let me warm up, and abandon me

Love poems, love notes, love deeply from the heart

Numb to the core, no feeling anymore

So many backs turned

Hurt me again

Trying to dig at the truth

Truth be told of my faults, how to finally love

One more pill to take off the edge

Normalness for a couple of hours

Stop looking at me

I’m hiding, not realistic

I’m dying just like everyone else

Desert me

Wound me.

Kill Me Damn!

I can feel it in.

It's a part of me...numb.

You got it just right, straight from inside.

very good.
