Speechless

Speechless

A Poem by Clare Ashbury

Look into my eyes

Watch as I secretly cry

Confusion has overpowered me

Completely

Life has been turned upside down

And so I tread through the swamps of

Depression

Aggression

Love

My mind has become unreasonable

My stomach full of butterflies

Can't help but to blush

But with secrets I must hush

Mind full of desire

Heart full of fear

The “what ifs” surface

Tame or untamed

Let the secrets show upon words

Nervousness has been grounded

Smiles have been planted

Thoughts have been tampered with

Secrets have been stored

So many things to say

And to think of a writer

Lay speechless

Without words.
