How Would I Go On Without You

How Would I Go On Without You

A Poem by Susie Q
"

FACING THE INEVITABLE

"

Death is the final step in life that we must endure.

I learned only yesterday you are going away. I hold

out hope a miracle will occur and you can remain

without pain to do the things you love most. Your

smile and gentle soul with songs you sing from the

heart are what keeps everyone going.  I know this

time will come to all of us someday and I know you

you are ready for this journey but hard for your

family and friends to comprehend. You have served

your church and country well. You were created to

be the best son, brother, husband, father, uncle

and in-law anyone could ever hope for and you

fulfilled your role like none other. We have heard

about miracles and we pray for just one more to

keep you here with us for much longer without

pain and grant your wish and give you peace.

WE LOVE YOU!

Author's Note

Susie Q
Written for my brother, Walter Albert Miller (Buss), in a VA nursing home in Anderson, South Carolina for the past year and a half after surviving two surgeries for brain tumors. He has had some strokes, has trouble speaking and can't walk anymore and all he wishes for is to go home and be able to sing again. Like I said he is amazing and doctors have been wrong before. He served in the Air Force in Korea and Viet Nam. Please say a prayer for him. ( My brother went to his eternal home Sunday July 08, 2012)

I will Pray for a man I do not know, for it is not to know him but to know that he was loved by all. He was loved by all who did know him and by some who did not. I will say a prayer for your brother, because he is a fellow human being and for that he deserves my prayer. I will say a prayer for your brother because his service to this country alone warrants that and more. I will say a prayer for a man I did not know because his brother asked me too and because I would like to know that someone that did not know my brother might do the same.

Please give your brother my heart felt thanks. Not only for his service to this country, but also for his enduring strength. Tell him thank you for me, for reminding me that humanity is not lost and that a perfect stranger can touch my heart.

I put the Soldier in my prayers. He sound like a good man who had a good life. He served in two hard wars. He must be a strong man. I keep your brother in my prayers.

Uncle Buss is the caliber of man that is rare to find. As the Bible story of Lot had to take one righteous man to save his city to God, I would have taken Him my Uncle Buss.

His unconditional love for his family, his friends, and the world and all whom reside upon it is so admirable. His unwavering belief in his christian faith is unparalelled. The gentleness of his very nature makes everyone around him at ease. The joy of his singing has given himself and so many great comfort. His sense of duty to his country and his family goes without question. His life has been lived totally in the service to those whom know him and so many who will never meet him.

I know my Uncle Buss "will" sing again, whether it be here upon this earth or with a choir of angels.

I love you, Uncle Buss!
