SUNSHINE BRINGS A SMILE

SUNSHINE BRINGS A SMILE

A Poem by Susie Q

A cloudy, dreary day can make us sad

It makes us think rain may be on the way.

The wind might blow up a big storm

With thunder and lightning in the sky.

Now and then the sun will peek through

Just to say, " Hey, I'm still up here"

One little ray can make you SMILE.

After the storm usually comes the sun

To brighten our world once more.

I guess that is why the guy who made that smiley face with "have a nice day" is, now, a multi-multi-multi-millionare. I think the happy influence of sunshine on our personality, for the day, must date back to the cavemen. Sometimes, we can find our own sunshine, too, during the storms of our lives. You have been my sunshine, quite a few times, Mom. All it takes is one ray of sunshine, one ray of happiness and hope, to make us forget about the gloom. This is a short, sweet nicely written tribute to our friend, Mr. Sunshine; we all love him so!

Short and sweet and to the point! Often a smile IS the sunshine which can chase away the storm and lift someone's spirit. Well penned, my friend.
