Silence KillsA Poem by clairvoyantmarsWhat’s the point in shouting your name When words can’t reach you, so you never came Why do I still reach out to thin air For a lingering touch that was truly not there
The stains on my pillow, rumpled sheets on my bed Mem’ries play over and over inside my head The endless ticking of the clock pushes me Almost to the brink of insanity
The shadows engulf me, the loneliness keeps The dreams from escaping as I fall asleep The silence, it kills me, pulsing inside my head. So I cover my ears and sing lullabies instead.
The moaning and wailing slices through the night The shadows retreating to corners in fright They hinder my dreaming and nightmares stop by To torture my sanity until it dies. © 2011 clairvoyantmarsReviews
