Nothing Can Stop Us

Nothing Can Stop Us

A Poem by clairvoyantmars

She lies on the bed with the photo he gave
A moment, a memory, an artist can save
She wonders if that smiling boy had known then
That they'd fall in love. If only he knew when

Did he know that he'd give his first kiss to her?
That things would never go back to what they were
Their times spent together, the harder he'd fall
The hardships they would face, he knew none at all

If that boy had known what was happening now
That she had to leave and move right out of town
And there she would stay to study for a year
And pursue her passions while he stayed right here

She put down the photo and cried for a while
The boy in the photo, he still had his smile
The words he had whispered, they ran through her head:
"Don't worry, I won't leave. I'll stay here instead."

"I love you, so I'll wait. My heart, it is yours
'Cause you are the girl I have been waiting for.
Remember, I'll catch you whenever you fall.
So, no one and nothing can stop us at all!"

She smiles and gives that smiling boy a soft kiss.
His eyes and his smile were some things she would miss.
But distance was not important here it seems
'Cause no matter what he was there in her dreams...
