Letters of the UnrequitedA Poem by clairvoyantmarsHow’s it been going? An old friend said Didn’t you say that you’d keep in touch? I’ve been down in life lately Though no progress has happened much I’ve been trying to reach you just now And I’ve been wondering if you’d try To help me back up again Answer and I’ll tell you why
Chorus: This was a letter I got a few days ago And I realized that I’d reply To live my life for them And make the world a little bit better I can’t burn the pages now That I’ve read those earnest words God help me make this work You can aid me I’ve heard These letters of the unrequited Will be answered tonight
Where have you gone? Jesus told me You’ve gone astray and I can’t find you Come back into my arms tonight And I’ll tend to your wounds You don’t have to pretend anymore Just live for you and for others And I’ll be there to guide you You won’t need masks anymore
Stop crying, child, Mary said Don’t lose hope today There are still a million lives to change With every little thing you do and say Don’t lose faith in the good you’ve done Each day’s a gift you can’t live twice Life’s too short to waste on tears Promises should suffice
*Chorus*
Walk the same path, the young boy said No thousand miles can compare To the purity of the heart When the world needs a heart that shares I chose to take her reaching hand Because I’ve lived my life to the fullest Do your share and live content To God you leave the rest © 2011 clairvoyantmarsReviews
