The Fall

The Fall

A Poem by clairekeown25

subterranean devils lie festering in their perils,

flung now from a heaven denied,

fake showers of silver and gold now storms of sweat and blood,

did we do all we could?

As we lay in the hazy mists of senses spoiled to the point of addiction,

Now facing extinction,

Crave and thirst to fill a space,

constantly demanding your place,

Maybe you will find it now,

as the tiny soldiers nurse their wounds how could you be such a fool!

To ignore whats right in front of you!

Shattered mirror on the wall, I always loved you most of all,

Whilst bathed in the light of the pretty screens

it was so easy to forget their distant screams,

You didn’t notice the cracks in your pearls,

A punishment deserved.

Very deep. When will we ever learn?
