Driven by numbers

Driven by numbers

A Poem by clairekeown25

Sideways glances

Through shadowy corridors with numbered doors

Lonely robots roam the streets

Fueled by paranoid wars.

Tickertape spills from you mothers mouth at dinner,

A heart filled with statistics,

Tea and cake analytics.

Smiling plasticine equations to predict the others move,

Pervert their genetic protector,

In isolation there is proof.

Mechanistic soldiers veiled in skin,

I will never let you in.

Wonderful and powerful images, great flow.

But "nobody can do you more harm than you can do to yourself", so please have compassion for those mechanistic soldiers and the harm they do to themselves, and maybe give them a smile too.

i like that your work seems to have a mechanical or futuristic spin to it in the all the pieces I've read so far :) I believe my favorite part of this is

Tickertape spills from your mothers mouth at dinner
A heart filled with statistics
Tea and cake analytics

strong mental images, and a very well written piece
