She Screams

About a lost girl who's made many mistakes

She looks at her reflection
She can only see the rejection
Of all that have broken
Her heart.

She Screams in the night
She has given up the fight
And now she has
Fallen apart.

She is a slowly dying flame
She will never the the same
And she can never,
Ever restart.

For this girl does not cry
Only can she sigh
Because it was she who was
Not smart.

And now I hope you see,
After thinking thoroughly
That this girl is not you
But me.

Fantastic! I really like the rhyming scheme. The emotion is raw, as it should be. Also, I sense a very subtle message of "It's not you. It's me". Well done!

I really liked the relateabilty you put through on this poem. I don't think it flowed perfectly though. It was rhyme then not, rhyme then not. I don't want to hit on the rhyming. But it seems like you just jabbed the last part on, it didn't really connect. Made sense, but I think it all should've rhymed.
Either way, it's still a really good poem. Keep going.

Oh, how I can relate. We wish to have changed things, but it's simply too late. Every pain, suffering we encounter should not bring us down. But simply shape us into a stronger, beautiful person.
