String Puppet

String Puppet

A Poem by Cassidy Mask
"

A poem that rhymes - a very rare occurnce for me...

"

Play those final chords

We’re in the death scene now

And Romeo’s already dead

(The romantics are wondering how)

So play those final chords

You death-obsessed puppeteer

(Romeo’s already dead)

Juliet’s time is near

Everyone knows the ending

So why the catch in their breath

(Judging from the tear-stained faces)

This is about more than merely death

But everyone knows the ending

I mean how could they forget

I guess they hope it will be different

(But their prayers are never met)

So pull at the strings of my heart

And let them watch the scene unfold

My puppet hands will do your bidding

Until your own stone heart turns cold
