Music Box

Music Box

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Play a song

Of Death

O Music Box

Play a song

Of the End

As it comes

Crashing it’s

White-capped

Waves

Against our

Shores

Play a song

For the little

Soldier boy

Body broken

On a still

And silent

Tide of

The dead

Play a song

For the

Young girls

Tears

As they fall

Helpless

To gravity’s

Pull

Toward the

Wide expanse

Of an open page

Play a song

O Music Box

Play a song

For me

As I sit here

In the dark

Of a sunless

Existence

In the shadow

Of a moonless

Night

Play a song

O Music Box

Play but a

Single Song
