UntitledA Poem by Cassidy MaskThe ravens have all drowned I told them not to swim But would they listen When I said that a boat was a better idea The people are all singing They swallowed their tongues When they saw the daybreak And now they cannot stop The incessant chanting That falls from their lips The mountains are all crumbling They say they’ve had enough Of the bubbling anger Of the molten rock That shifts restlessly below Hearts are bleeding They say they’ve been badly broken I suggested Duck tape Now they say they’re on strike The sky is falling An issue of love apparently Tells me it won’t be separated from The ground The mud is rebelling Says it can’t stand the grass I told it it didn’t need to The grass would stand And the mud just had to lie At its feet Now the flowers are dying Some problem with the soil I’m sitting in the dark Reading the dictionary Some problem with the mind They whisper I just roll my eyes And they squeal as though I've just proved their point.
