Sleep Deprivation

Sleep Deprivation

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Shadows

Under my eyes

Grey smudges

Lack of

Sleep

I sit here

Shivering

In the

Cold black

Of

Night.

Unable

To close

My eyes

Sleep Deprivation

The shadows

Seem to

Reach out

Trying

To wrap

Themselves

Around me

Trying to

Suffocate

Me

But I

Will not

Close

My

Eyes

Sleep Deprivation

My brain

Seems stuck

Repeating

Itself

Just two

Words

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep Deprivation

I’m choking

On the

Darkness

But I

Will not

Close

My eyes

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep Deprivation

I

Will not

Close

My eyes

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep…
