The Fairy Queen

The Fairy Queen

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I wish I were in a Fairytale

I’d be the Fairy Queen

With scintillating golden tresses

That reached down to my knee

I’d sit in the boughs of an oak tree

And it would be my throne

My wings would glitter

With the light of a thousand rainbows

I’d wear flowers in my hair

And a chain of daisies at my throat

I’d ride on a winged white Unicorn

With a mane of liquid opal

I’d wear a plain dress

And I’d have muddy knees

My eyes would sparkle

The colour of white gold

My feet would be bare

And the hem of my dress torn

I would ride across my kingdom

In the thunder and pouring rain

My laugh like tinkling bells

And my skin cold and pale
