Yesterday, Again. You'll Never Have Today.

Yesterday, Again. You'll Never Have Today.

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

All the lies you've told will catch
you up, one day, she said.
And through all the warping
changes of the days and years
that thought remains.

Yesterday, again.
You'll look at me a little oddly
try to smile and break your
teeth. Remember how this
goes, again?
The subtle sweetness of
the milky tea she'll serve.
Just a little late.
We hold on, again.

Already you've forgotten
but that thought remains.

You'll never get yesterday again.

'Yesterday, again. You'll..' The way you play with tenses is so clever, it makes everything heart braking, 'cause it shows how nothing ever was, is or will be perfect. Except this, this is perfect and beautiful. x
