WATER

WATER

A Poem by C.
"

The word was the only prompt I got. Did it for a collection of poems published every month in my school back in the day. WAY old, almost forgot about it.

"

There is a thin, silver line--

A divider of worlds.

Above looks through to

Blue shadows, slowly swirling.

Below looks through to

Discord--whites and grays and reds and blues

Sharply shimmering and clashing and

Disappearing, only to shoot out again.

Two halves make the

Under: quiet, deep, alone.

Two halves make the

Over: bright, still, curious.

There is a line.

It is thin and it is silver.

. oh, this is absolutely stunning ... ravishing poetry at its ravishing best ... amazing images ... amazing words ... and very enchanting deployment of the words above and below ...

I love reading this
Not just reading it, I had to say this one out loud
A few times actually, it just ran off the tongue so well
There is a flow in there, that makes perfect sense to my brain
Some poets I've seen seem to randomly press enter to break up a line and a thought for some reason I can't figure out but you don't do that
It's like everything here was deliberate
I like how the idea in the first line is repeated in a different way and the way it's worded is very effective I just get it
And the line 'whites and grays and reds and blues'
Love that, comes off the tongue quickly
I didn't just enjoy the words of this piece I enjoyed thinking about it sonically
The over and under dichotomy was great too
The only thing I can ever think to critique about the poetry of others is the structure of it and it's done so well here I can't find any part that isn't awesome
And it isn't about love and s**t, appreciate that too
Thanks for posting this
