You say you forgive meA Poem by ChristineI sometimes can't stand the audacity of people, who think that when they forgive someone it wipes the slate clean.
You say you forgive me Because it’s the Christian thing to do. Yet, I wonder how I can forgive myself, For even loving you. You betrayed me with your lies, You hurt me until I cried My tears brought you twisted joy As they traveled from my eyes. My tears flowed like a river Faithfully down my face My mind often wonders How do I deal with loves Fall from grace. You say you forgive me The hurt and the pain I’ve caused you. I’m sorry I can’t say the same, Because I will never forgive you. You say that you forgive me.
