Last Goodbye To The Lighthouse

Last Goodbye To The Lighthouse

A Poem by Lost?

The sky bleeds,

the light searches.

The waves slap,

the horn screams.

But the fog is too thick and

the rocks are too close.

There will be no survivors.

This is my last goodbye to the lighthouse.

A very sad poem. You captured the plot or story in so few lines. My favorite line is; "the sky bleeds".

I love the terseness of the lines here. The sky bleeds is a great image and everything sort of has its own "personality" like the horn screeching, and the light searching. It's easy to read a lot into these few lines. To me, it says that although everything/one is doing all they can, there is no preventing the inevitable ending. The last line ties everything together very nicely...almost emotionless, not panicky but just an acknowledgment of the truth. Great job.
