Missing you

It's so still and quiet,
no footsteps to break the silence.
I can still see your smile
even when I close my eyes.
I never knew how
it could hurt like this.
Knowing the moment is all
that we have,
cherishing everything
I remember of you.
Even as time has passed us by,
the emotions of a love,
still lingers in my soul.
Gazing into your eyes,
how it made me feel,
would I ever get to see your face
again?
I pull back my tears,
hoping the pain would subside,
even as the years went by,
I'm still missing you.
I've moved on and found
someone new,
but you still haunt me somehow.
Your touch,
our memories,
the way you would console
my fears,
protecting me with all your love.
