Broken SilenceA Poem by Chong N. KimHere's my story of my own enslavement
Broken Silence
Sojourning through life in a quest for love,
longing acceptance in world full of sorrow...
Rejected by loved ones in a domestic nightmare;
A vision of solitude in a quarry of tears...
Care to the wind in an unknown world;
into the arms of a savior, at last...
A soul is weighted in a perilous balance,
gasps for life were drowned by such fury.
Days became months in a hell of why's;
released by a neighbor after desperate cries...
Wandering the streets, rejected by shelters;
Identities burned, existence was silenced ...
One, so sincere, witnessed the needs,
approaching lovingly, benevolent kindness...
The words seemed so honest, a hand stretched forth:
Grasping it with faith, true life was at hand...
The months went by being trafficked and sold;
the endless nightmare of clients and slavery.
Greeted by hopelessness at every turn;
a dungeon of horrors, threats and death.
From city to city a traveling brothel;
the souls of the lost in a tapestry of darkness..
Fleeing a client who knew all the ropes:
Eyes blinded by the god of money....
The song of revenge birthed a glamorous Madame;
total control of a deceptive kingdom...
Creating an empire once loathed through despair;
flashback's reality launched the escape.
Giving possessions to people in need;
lights from a distance with its riches and emptiness.
From church to church in various states,
pleading for help in a plight for freedom.
Broken and battered eluding fierce captors,
a book of numbers became a good friend.
Destiny led to the "Breaking Away;"
perceiving a victim, embracing a being.
Frightened and lonely, they consoled out of love;
tears of healing, a spirit of joy....
Years have gone by with the will to survive;
enduring the pain, reaching out to others.
Telling this story to shine forth the light,
freeing the captives to live once again.
Breaking the shackles of those still bound;
finding true love in the rescue of others...
