Behind the Glass

Behind the Glass

A Poem by Chong N. Kim

Behind the Glass

Looking in,
A world so perfect
Holding tears back,
Wishing my life could be different
I stand here
Alone and scared.
Hold me,
Mold me to where I can fit in
Is it my fault,
That my childhood was broken?
Is it a crime,
For me to keep trying?
Break the glass,
I stand behind.
Handle me gently,
Carry me into a room
Where I can belong.
My tears fall,
I yearn to be apart of your world.
I’ve done my part to change,
All I ask if your acceptance.
Take me as I am.
