ENOUGHA Poem by Chong N. KimWorld hate needs to stop.
ENOUGH
Screams starts to arise, But nobody’s even listening As evil lingers in our ears A war of community burned. No one ever said life was fair, But why do we struggle to be heard? We slash one another, By saying, “I’m right and you’re wrong.” Just by the difference of perception? Why can’t we come together? And push away the ignorance, Do we even try to hear the other side? NO Social Media slanders Anyone who refuse to see Are you seeing the hate? Or am I blind to the ongoing oppression? I don’t care what political side you are on, Neither of you are, right. Don’t make me choose a side, Don’t tear my voice apart. If we are all supposed to be equal, Why is that animal’s treat each other better than we do? Lions hunt for survival, While we “humans” go sport hunting for pleasure. Greed has become our new God, While humbleness comes with a price. How do we eliminate crime, When we can’t keep the violence away from our children? How is justice prevailed when it comes with a price That can’t be afforded? ENOUGH! I can’t take the shouting anymore, I’m busy ducking from all the bullets of hate Spitting out of your mouths, But do you realize who it’s ultimately killing? Young babies wandering without supervision, Because everyone is busy Trying to one up on the other. ENOUGH! Don’t you hear the ringing in your ears? Have the words immune your ears from such depravity? That Profanity becomes a new language We just casually accept, But “hope” becomes so foreign, we Refuse to believe. Instead of “apologizing” our consequences, We fill them up with lies of excuses, Just so the pain doesn’t seem so bad, When “Sorry” is one word that is difficult to mutter, But “Hate” becomes our new anthem. How can we raise a cause when power? Has become our new compass, Don’t you feel tired? I can’t shout anymore, I can’t cry anymore, I just sit and watch all of us Get seduced by selfishness, ENOUGH, I can’t take it anymore. ENOUGH, My heart is hurting, but do you even care? ENOUGH, Says a child who is begging for unity, ENOUGH, The world is now in silence . . . © Chong Kim, July 9, 2013 © 2024 Chong N. KimReviews
