Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by CJ Richards
"

Experimental. First one I've written so, yeah. Sums it up.

"
At arms length, it would appear that what we can't physically grasp what is out of reach,
Sometimes, however, the realest things are more what we feel, less what we see,
Thoughts roam uncontrollably, silent screams unheard of to the human ear,
Frozen in a state of panic, or possibly uncertainty, the emotion of fear,
Overwhelms the nerves, a loss of perception as well as words,
Yet a warm reception, to all whom waited for the good days to return,
A feeling of loneliness, abandoned hope lost in the tunnels of darkness,
Inhabited by the innocent and villainous alike, two worlds in the same compartment,
Upon exiting into the free world, a breath of fresh air, unsure what to do with it,
Drawn to act a certain way, paranoid that they might stray, so intuitive,
They saw in another what they couldn't find within themselves,
Attracted to the shrouded bliss presented before them, above all else,
But perhaps there was more than meets the eye, hidden unintentionally,
And even if there was a purpose to the subtle deception, it was intriguing, done exceptionally,
Confusion is the result of letting the outside world in, losing focus of what's important,
Love is letting your flaws and imperfections show, and having faith another soul will accept you for it.
