Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Chad LaPierre

Waiting for your arrival, I sit idle at the train station.
A whistle blows in the distance, but the wind is all that I hear.
And it seems for a second that I should sit idle in the grass;
for your arrival is a more natural thing.
And my love for you sprouts like a tiny infant
asleep on a soft bird's wing.

"And my love for you sprouts like a tiny infant

Such beautiful lines!!
This is a charming poem and I enjoyed it. I really like the way you put things
"And it seems for a second that I should sit idle in the grass;
for your arrival is a more natural thing."
You're one of the most creative poets on here that I've come across. A quality I admire.

'And it seems for a second that I should sit idle in the grass;

a wonderful quality to this, again setting the scene so well and describing with simplicity. reminded me of nerudas line 'there is nothing sadder than a train in the rain' but here there is a hint of love and happiness just around the corner.the similie is breathtakingly beautiful. i am so pleased to have found your poetry, you have an amazing voice. waiting is a subject i find very poetic and have written about a few times myself but this poem is something very special. fantastic.
