I Wear the MaskA Poem by The Greatest HurricaneI
wear the mask that sparkles and shines It’s
bright and happy on the outside, But
take a peek within And
I’m like a bubble about to burst Always
hiding what really hurts. The
anger I feel is suppressed As
I become more and more stressed. Living
up to expectations is not all it seems, When
you always feel like you’re not good enough. Ms.
Care-Free When
people look, that’s all they see When
people talk, I wear a smile, What
they don’t know is their words are something I will always keep, Secretly
hidden, way down deep. When
hiding yourself makes you stress every moment, We
ask ourselves…Is it really worth it? © 2013 The Greatest HurricaneAuthor's Note
