Tears

Tears

A Poem by Bruni

Out of the corner of my eye,

A salty substance crawls out.

Dripping slowly down

The side of my

Face.

In the other room,

Harsh words pierce the air.

Unintentional.

Funny how your mouth

Has a mind of its own

When you’re

Angry.

Words flying out.

Like wasps searching

For a target

To infect

With their own anger.

Retaliation.

Who says that

In order to stand up for

Yourself,

You have to put someone else

Down?

Back and forth.

Stinging.

Back and forth.

Hurt.

Back and forth.

A miniature hell

On earth

What is it going to

Take to erase all the hate

In the world?

To erase it and

Pencil in love?

Hopefully the answer

Will be available soon.

As I sit here,

Contemplating on

Humanity.
