omg I wrote this when I thought I was a "straight" "girl".....O.o. I'm a completely different person now...LITERALLY. lmao.

the darkness cascades over my silver eyes
i am drowning in you
black promises collide with secrets
you forced me to tell you

i don't want
to stop
so
don't tell me too

fireflies are hiding
in the shadows of your backyard
your little brother
is ignoring my sister
and that's fine with me

the gilded sword i am holding
is invisible
gold shines through your eyes
my feet are anxious
their instincts roaring

i touch the gray moth's broken wing
i try to stare into his
tiny, broken eyes
but all i see is white noise

fireflies figured out
how to glow in the dark
but my darkness
is showing
and i think you should let me go

i don't think
this is real

now my feet move
now they are running
i need to feel the city lights
i need to feel the ocean breeze

the fireflies are oblivious
glass shatters beneath a midnight sky
the grasshoppers carry on
not knowing
i am as blinding as the night

if i don't run away
promise me you will
because i don't want to shatter you.
