Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Kaden Elias Sylvers

standing here

alone and waiting

cold soft, muscles

angry undernearth

the dim moonight and

the slow fade of the

glistening moon as

silver raindrops fall

and sweat slides

down my silhouette as

I run, hard muscles aching

throughout the storm,

where am I and what does

this mean, this new feeling

echoing with the blistering

cold of the pavement my

tough bare feet noislessly

glide across, waiting waiting

something dimming dimming

but always pounding, in the heat

of the night in the cold of the moon,

everything inside me roaring and then

fading but running, running to the place

where the sand will cover both of us, when,

forfeit in the barren city, I am just a lost city girl,

but here I am, I am still waiting, and where is she,

the girl with the luminescent face, the dark eyes in my dreams

standing here, alone and waiting, muscles angry underneath the midnight rain.
