From Darkness to Light

A struggle with inner demons, and the battle one faces on a daily basis and how I feel sometimes, along with other people who go through similar things.

The pain rips and tears as my mind struggles to leave it's suffocating shell
My soul is lashing at my heart choking it to change it's beat to the sound of the fallen
My body is in constant agony from the war within, and I wonder if I will ever hear the sound of the bell.

I look for peace and release from things around me people say are evil and damning
But I know that something has to give in this constant ripping and tearing of my mind
Every day brings new horror as the chaos around me causes my fist against the wall slamming.

Sweet sleep I long for, a calm mind like the wind across a calm mountain lake
Not one has the right to tell me what will bring this darkness into the light
My shoes are mine alone, and those who think they can cure me through words are only showing their ignorance and from their sleep they need to wake.
