Longing for the New England Coast

Longing for the New England Coast

A Poem by Mike Mounts
"

A poem about my love and desire to move back to New England with my family.

"

Dreaming of the air filled with the aroma of the crashing sea
The beauty of the painted light that has saved many a life
Knowing how happy and content my love and precious gems will truly be.

As I strive to be content with what the Creator has given me
My heart and mind cannot help but drift over the mountains
and across the land to a sacred place
Where I can sit and create powerful words under a magical color changing tree

And as the shouts of the white tipped water crashes against the ancient cliffs
I will be able to share with my five treasures how wonderful and exciting life can be
As we embark on our long awaited sailing vessel in the waves of the mighty sea, we drift.

Small correction: It is "crash" not "crashes."

I live in New England (born and raised) and I can't imagine moving away and not eventually finding my way back.

I am unsure about the color changing tree. Oh, DUH! No, I'm not. It's Fall foliage, yes? AWESOME and I almost missed the meaning....
