Falling

Falling

A Story by cinlee dan
"

A flash fiction.

"
It was raining from morning.
Ah, it’s dripping.
A drop of rain on a rail got mixed with other drops and trickled down.
Well, it’s a raindrop. No wonder.
Raindrops keep on falling one after another. I just kept on watching at drops trickling down from the rail.
Stop it.
After a while, I told myself and left the veranda.
But what waited for me was a sandglass on the table in the kitchen.
My favorite golden sand falling down to the bottom space would comfort me.
I could “see” time with a three-dimensional golden pyramid.
The upper decreased while the bottom increased.
This was such a riddle, but it seems to mean the world.
Rain falling from the sky sinks into the ground, and vapors up into the air.
I turned around the sandglass upside-down.
See, now you’re in the sky again.
I was with this funny triumphant, feeling as if I was fiddling the whole world.
I still watched the golden sand, shaping another pyramid underneath.
Maybe I’ll be falling off from the sky just like this sand, some time.
I just kept on watching it, listening to the rain fall gradually getting heavy.
