To the Marrow

To the Marrow

A Poem by N. Hadley

Of all the seven deadly sins
sloth is the most
wicked

i speak from experience

i may look human, my flesh
may be human

but my bones, down to the
marrow are those of
the

Paramylodon harlani

I should be in a museum,
in a glass case, with
a plaque in front that reads

HERE BE WHAT REMAINS OF THE
GIANT SLOTH, ALIVE AND BREATHING
