Loneliness

Loneliness

A Poem by Mr. Secrecy

Like water in an empty cup,
loneliness fills me.
My soul aches for the company of others,
for the warmth of a presence,
other than my own.
Someone to fill the void,
in my otherwise empty spirit.
I am a man apart,
An island of isolation,
A being, alone.

Very nicely done, Mr.Secrecy! This poem really got me with the lines

"My soul aches for the company of others,

for the warmth of a presence,

other than my own.

That is very well said, and probably best sums up how many lonely people feel. I can somewhat relate to this(but that's only because I'm one of those people who just loves being with my friends so much more than anything). Great job! :)

This is the most poetic and beautiful way of describing this feeling. I really really enjoyed this!
