YouA Poem by Charlene Hughes
A lifetime I have waited, they said you didn’t exist Holding tight to dreams of love, not ready to give in.
Sadly as I’m waiting, watching dreams slip away
My hopes of finding true love have brought tears to my face
I have tamed my savage emotions, but my passion rages still
I would find the perfect man, my heart he would heal.
The solitude of loneness still washes through my soul
I am not afraid of being alone, I’ve learned well from before
My heart is very wise now. It learned to heal its wounds
This may seem so heartbreaking, to someone that is new
I just knew there had to be, your love so strong and true
So I find myself incurable, trying to find someone like you. © 2015 Charlene HughesReviews
