Elfin Soul

Look at her, she's my poem.

 

You are beauty

Even with eyes closed

 

Your fragile elfin soul

Is a gift to us all

 

You don’t speak

But we can hear you sing

 

You don’t move

But we can see you dancing

 

You are the love

This world had forgot

 

But your eyes of green

You can’t forever keep them clean

 

I wish I could have the heart

To hurt you for your sake

 

For this world is so cruel

That you might break

 

For you are a fruit

They want to reap

 

And reap, they’ll do

For they don’t really care for you

 

 

Author's Note

I saw this picture few days ago and I was really amazed by it's simple yet amazing beauty. Just one look and I felt like I've read a whole story already.
And when I saw a PhotoContest in here, I remembered her. So, here she is.

Beautiful picture. I like the writing as well...as children we were all so innocent and beautiful. Time has a way of changing things, and there are too many people in this world who will all too easily prey upon that innocence. Nicely done. Maybe a little more imagery could have punched this up a bit, but overall a very nice piece.
