Braving The StormA Poem by Chrys MarieWhen will you realize that here I still remain, standing raw in the raging rain?
Stop leaving me hanging with hope,
My hands reaching to grab on to a rope. 'Cause heaven knows how hard it is to hold When the heart you love is going cold. When will you realize that here I still remain, Standing raw in the raging rain? Or do you really just plan to say goodbye Then leave me stranded in the storm's eye? I can see that you're torn apart at the seams Now that we're no longer a team. But I'm not the only one to blame; It takes two to play this game. My dear, gaze at the divine dark; Does it in any way remind you of our spark? But now that it's been taken away by the tide, It has left a hole in your chest so wide. Once, my heavy heart sought solace And it was found in your embrace. But now that I'm losing strength and sleep, I can see the bitterness into your heart seep. Now you've changed, I hear you constantly complain About the rain and all other things mundane. Don't you find it strange how much you've changed? And now you're even calling me deranged. Yet still, despite your muddled mind And how you've become so blind, I can still see through the cracks some light And I know things will become alright. 'Cause past aside the heavy weight of the hate, All our tears will also evaporate And all of these will just be a shade Of a severe storm that I know will fade. © 2016 Chrys MarieAuthor's Note
