Dizzied by the Light

Dizzied by the Light

A Chapter by chrysantheranium

I feel sorry
For you.
.
.
I feel sorry
For all the times
I wasted your time,
All the moments wasted
In the heat of the moment
.
All of the worries
I held above your head,
Worried about where
You ought to be headed
.
I'm sorry for you
.
.
For all the pennies
I spared when I was penniless,
All the games we played
When we didn't know
We were bigger than
What we had once thought
.
.
I'm sorry
.
.
For the fact that
You cannot find in your heart
A space to make room, pull in
Consequence
The taste of remorse, a salt grain of change
Lodged behind your brain
Agitating, pulling, telling you so
That there is something wrong here,
Something you turn a blind eye to,
Turn the other cheek, expect me
To do the same
.
.
When I simply cannot
.
.
.
I'm sorry for me
For wasting my time
On such ill-begotten treasures,
For treasuring, cherishing
Every perishable
Flake of love you ever
Seasoned my head with
Through the seasons,
Like I was pretty lettuce on a plate
Looking up to you
With your silver eyes
And loverusted salt-and-pepper shake
.
.
I'm sorry
.
.
.
For wasting my energy
On one who cannot fathom
Energy being taken
To progress
Further
Much
Further
.
.
.
So fly free, free bird
I do not wish to hold you back
More than the strings caught between your beak
And the empty promise of you
Never looking back.

Ignore basic grammatical errors, as there are some rules that, as a writer, I don't care to abide by. I feel restricted when following these rules, and since I have such a hard time getting my thoughts across, I'd rather break a few rules than be grammatically "perfect."
