Heavy Anchor HeartA Chapter by chrysantheranium
You take a breath,
Ready to look back - Look deep back on The times that once were . . The times where You would look upon Both sealaced streetsides Not once, but twice . Left, then right, Then left again And right again And steady-still . Steady you stayed Strayed away By the ocean's spray, Lost in the last eyes By the dying light Of May . . Yes, you still remember her birthday You still remember her birthday . . . . . On one hand, an island Of flowers and blossoms That never cease To bloom . Petals falling, Leaves a'dancing, Always ready to rest easy Always ready to catch you . . On the other hand, an island Of chasms and sweet mystery Always casting a shadow Always under that same rainbow . But you think, The colors just mean It always rains where you are Where you are, It always Rains. . . . You hit your head Twice then twice Again, and Again . Pendulum heart, Metronome mind Beat twice, blink twice Please, please, think again . . You still remember her birthday . . What would your parents say? . . . Black and white Back and forth A push, a pull, A current tearing at your worth . . You always wondered Why you were So afraid Of the salty seas . . Heavy heart, you sank Far below Too distraught To make a decision . To follow . . . . . You still remember her birthday . You still remember her birthday
