Rolf (RIP 2009)

Rolf (RIP 2009)

A Story by Christine Peters

It's Rolf's birthday today, July 27th.

He taught me how to love.,

I held very little experience.

My own father and mother never loved,

Never cuddled, kissed or had us on their knee.

I had two brothers and a sister.,

Much the same there.

No love between us

Only parents that picked their favourites between their lot

And cared little for the rest.

But even then, the favourites never got real love, only spoilt.

Now both my parents are dead and never understood let alone appreciated real love.

My siblings are all just the same: one is dead without real love and the other two (the spoilt ones),

Are out of my life.

I grew up with this but Rolf showed me a much different way.

He taught me how to hug, kiss and tell others I loved them so much so.

I now have three children, two girls and a boy.,

Everytime I see them I hug them tight and kiss them.

Everyday I tell them always that I love them.

They tell me in return that they love me also.

It's the very same with my grandchildren.

Loving and showing love is so important for all.

I feel so sad now for my parents that they did not hold that gift.

But pass all their misery onto their offspring -

But surely not to me.

Thank you Rolf, I sure miss your loving.
