On-line Shopping Gone MadA Story by Christine PetersMy son works long and hard in the construction industry: he is a bricklayer.
I have elected to receive all his parcels to my home address as now retired, I am at home most times.
This has never been a problem for me.
However, my son is trying very hard to get on the ladder by owning his own home.
This is very difficult for young people in UK today.
Then we heard that apparently, one can order a flat-pack home from Amazon.
You just need some free land to erect it.
I suddenly had these night-time-mares.
I live in a very small and modest one-bedroom flat..,
With hardly any room to park my walking aids.,
I don't mind his two or three packages arriving at my home each day,
In which he can take over two weeks or more to bother pick them up..,
But imagine if suddenly a flat-pack house would suddenly arrive at my door.,
And in many stages.
'One front door and two outer walls., please sign here!'
How in hell could I park a whole house in my small flat waiting for him to pick it all up?
It's hard for me to envisage the scene..,
Go through several doors to reach my bed each night.
Leap over many wall partitions to get to my kettle.,
Open a few windows to watch my TV.,
Climb a ladder and go through some loft entrance to reach my toilet..,
Somebody out there - please help me!
